Hello friend!

You've got this and I've got you

Your photographer, cheerleader, hype-woman and best friend

My photography career didn't start off focusing on boudoir. I've specialized in fine-art portraiture and creative photography for most of the last decade, which you can see more of here. And while I'll always have a love for creative photography, something changed during the first boudoir session I shot. Seeing the profound impact I could have on women. The way she walks in slightly nervous and reserved and walks out a little taller, feeling confident and knowing her worth. The way her face lights up when I show her the back of the camera and it clicks, "This is ME, and I look AMAZING."

I know it sounds corny, I know you've seen the word "empowered" more times than you can count if you've been searching for a boudoir photographer. It sounds like a major exaggeration to say a boudoir shoot is life-changing. But I'm going to do my best to explain to you exactly how it is.

My goal not just in photography, but in life Is to be open, honest and transparent. My own journey and struggle for self-love. has been quite a long one. I was diagnosed with a severe case of Crohn's Disease at the age of 11. And it's been two decades of extreme weight loss and weight gain, days with a stomach so distended I could be mistaken for pregnant, a distorted relationship with food because I need it to survive but it can also be the source of my pain, dealing with hair loss from chemotherapy drugs, stretch marks and scars that cover most of my body, and symptoms that the majority of people would find "embarrassing". Ultimately, it's been two decades of learning to love and embrace my body again.

I don't tell you any of this for sympathy but to highlight that self-love is HARD. Really fucking hard. My journey has been difficult but it's also what has led me to found, Stigma-free Ostomy, a media-based project aimed at raising awareness of those living with ostomies, chronic illness, and disability. And it's also what has shifted my career focus from creative photography to boudoir.

It makes me so happy to have a career that helps women learn to love themselves and embrace everything about their bodies. To show how beautiful our bodies really are, even when we're fighting chronic illness or disability, have gained or lost some weight, whether we're coming to terms with our bodies after childbirth or have the stretch marks, loose skin, cellulite and battle scars that show we have simply lived.

All bodies are beautiful. All women are beautiful and deserve to be admired.  Here at feminine fables, we make sure we practice the radical act of loving ourselves every single day.

Random Facts About me:

- I could watch the Office all day everyday. It  always leaves me smiling and satisfied. "That's what she said."
- I'm a lover of animals, all kinds... even though I'm highly allergic to some of them. That certainly hasn't stopped me from petting them or from sneaking stray animals into my house when I was a child,  often getting me in trouble.
- I consider pizza from different pizza joints a completely different product, and therefore, eating pizza from a different place every night isn't actually repetitious. Yes, I love pizza that much.... Don't judge me.
- I'm a book lover and love to spend my days (when I'm not editing) lying in a comfy spot with a good book and mug of green tea. (Preferably it's raining or thunder storming out)
- Lord of the Rings (any of them) are my go-to movies when I'm stretching, editing, or otherwise just want something on as background noise.
- My other hobbies include painting, hiking, rock climbing (very new favorite), writing... and most importantly, napping.. Because don't we all just love a lazy day?

Feminine Fables was founded on the strength of womanhood and the belief that all women deserve to be confident. Throughout history feminity was regarded as a negative trait; To be feminine was to be meek, subservient, quiet and restrained. But no more. Women for decades have put in the work to change this view and here, at Feminine Fables we celebrate that change and what it REALLY means to be feminine. There is strength in feminity. There is strength is motherhood. There is strength in embracing your sexuality and sensuality. There is strength in being soft when wanted and hard when necessary.

There is strength in being a woman.

And at feminine fables, we celebrate and embrace all that entails. We embrace our rolls, the body fat that does such a good job of protecting and insulating our bodies. We embrace the beautiful stretch marks that have developed from the miracle of creating and carrying a life inside our bodies. We embrace our lines and wrinkles, a testament to our wisdom and maturity. We embrace our skin color, whichever shade of light, dark or inbetween that may be. We embrace our sexuality, unabashedly and unashamed. We embrace our perceived flaws, whatever society has told us we shouldn't love, we make sure to love harder. We embrace our hips and dips, our skin and scars, our chub and flub and our good and bad.

In a world that makes it SO difficult to love yourself, we are here to help and show you how beautiful you really are.
